HAND-MADE MUSIC
It may sound incredible but it’s a fact – a really good musician’s performance in Moscow is not a common event. World level stars come rarely enough, major stages are filled with undisguised “popsa” while most clubs, as a rule, are occupied with the performers positioning themselves as “non-format”, but playing standard repertory at standard level.
That’s why Mamakabo headliners concert is a lucky strike for those who really appreciate really good music. Mamakabo is a concord of professional musicians, presenting “hand-made music” in all its diversity and magnificent quality. Even compared with such universally recognized personalities as Tommy Emmanuel, c.g.p., whose triumphal performance in Moscow took place for the first time under Mamakabo festival colours, professional level of our performers was in no way inferior, but made an adequate framing.
Born in 2004, the festival has grown into an international multi-format art-movement, where stereotypes are rejected, music is not divided into styles and genres, where quality is in the first place together with the idea of making people coming to the concert happy, enjoying personal contacts and communicating with the audience with the same pure delight.
What is of special importance for me,- says Timur Vedernikov, skilled musician and “Mamakabo” general producer,- that due to the fest, a new musical area is created, where the audience and the musicians can find each other.
Mamakabo is a real music instead of any “format”, and real audience instead of a consumer.
Two hours of a concert will be enough for Mamakabo headliners to produce such a portion of positive emotions as to put a spell on you. It will take time to get free from this “addiction” - and most people stay charmed forever…
